Ponder
Ever been in the city and wondered where you could go to work for an hour or so between appointments? Maybe get a few telephone calls out of the way, or catch up on some reading, churn out a letter or two, have a quiet cup of coffee in a "safe" environment, and have access to substantially discounted professional development workshops/seminars! And there is more - the opportunity to socially connect with other NEWORKers just like you!
We welcome enquiries from other parts of New Zealand and overseas.
Being a Member gives you
When you become a NEWORK member you are supporting the ideals of the the Work and Age Trust. Thursday is always an open day for all members at Volunteer Wellington Board Room, Level 3, Community House, 84 Willis St, Wellington.
Social interaction:
- NEWORKer lunches
- NEWORK after 5's
- A Support network
- The "NEWORKer" newsletter for NEWORKers
Business and professional development:
- Networking
- Opportunity for involvement in projects on NEWORKer issues.
- Inclusion in the "Membership Profile"
- Associate Membership to Wellington Chamber of Commerce which gives you members' rates to Chamber functions.
Above all, the opportunity to meet people who think and experience similar ways of creating an income and believe that working in the new way is a real job.
NEWORK lunches for example provide opportunities for social connection among portfolio/free lancer/contract workers.
We invite people join NEWORK even if you are currently working in the traditional employment environment. In today's work-world, people move in and out of organisations more frequently than in the past. Supporting NEWORK is about believing that there is more than one way of gaining a livelihood in the 21st Century.
Supporting the Trust in advocating on issues around the changing nature of work requires a strong membership base of supporters located in Wellington or New Zealand or Internationally.
In today's radically changing work world more people are combining a range of paid work with other lifestyle choices such as:
- Quality family time
- Specialist training
- Community service
People with a variety of skills are contracting their diverse services to many different clients. Consequently they have their own unique requirements for a support network.
